The Next Best Thing

Studs and spikes have been virtually everywhere these past few seasons. From bags and jackets to shoes and headbands, we’ve been metaphorically pierced with these spiky little ornaments from head to toe. I’ve been a steadfast fan of this tough-chic hardware for some time now, but there’s been a pull towards a more delicate aesthetic that I just can’t deny.
It wasn’t until I saw these babies…
A whole new level of amazing.

…that I realized pearls are the next best thing. I don’t mean the “next best thing” as in second-tier to studs (or any adornment for that matter), but that they are the next BEST thing to creep back into the fashion world.
There's just something so appealing about these lustrous little gems...

Maybe I’m being a tad sanguine, but a dash of these elegant little orbs can polish up any girls look while keeping with a timeless silhouette you'd be proud to show grandma.

More Ideas Than Time

On any given day during the workweek, there are a few select things that can really revive my energy and push me through those last few hours of drudgery:

1)    Coffee

2)     A quick walk down the Embarcadero

3)    A peek at some of my favorite blogs.

            4)    The thought of writing about something I love.

While I’ve clearly been absent for a week, I haven’t lost my love for Katie B. Style. I’d like to think that I just have more ideas than time :)

Tick-tock, tick-tock...

Only the fanciest of greetings for you, my dears.

Welcome to Katie B. Style! After months of tiptoeing around the idea of my very own blog, I'm pleased to invite you to what will be a splendid celebration of all the things that I love in life: fashion, food, film, art, and maybe even a little intellectual banter (to balance errythang out).
As I navigate my way through life after college in the big city of San Francisco, I feel a need to express myself now more than ever. The spontaneity and levity that college life gave is quickly evaporating, so this little ol’ blog is my way of keeping the balance between work (i.e. cubicle life) and play (fashion! frivolousness! fun!).
Warhol says it best.
Why not share the things I love with all of you? Like the eternally gorgeous and fashion-fearless Gwen Stefani says, “tick-tock, tick-tock, take a chance you stupid ho.”
